Carex Flacca

Carex flacca, commonly known as glaucous sedge, is a tufted, evergreen grass-like perennial with arching, blue-green to glaucous leaves. In late spring to early summer, it produces inconspicuous, upright flower spikes that are pale green to brown, providing subtle textural interest rather than showy blooms.

The plant offers ecological value by providing shelter and habitat for small invertebrates and stabilising soil in damp areas. Its low-maintenance, clumping habit makes it ideal for borders, rock gardens, pond edges, and naturalistic plantings where foliage colour and texture are the main feature.
