Carex pseudocyperus, commonly known as cyperus-like sedge, is a clump-forming perennial with broad, arching green leaves that form dense tussocks along pond edges and damp soils. In summer, it produces inconspicuous greenish-brown flower spikes that rise slightly above the foliage, providing subtle texture rather than showy blooms.
This species is valuable for wetland biodiversity, offering cover for small wildlife and helping to stabilise pond margins and damp ground. Its upright, arching habit and tolerance of consistently moist soils make it ideal for pond edges, wet meadows, and naturalistic water garden schemes.
